Janice Goldfrank has a Bachelor’s degree in Art History from the University of Rochester. She has taught natural history at Yale’s Peabody Museum. She has also been a cabinetmaker, carpenter and general contractor. In 1994 she developed a training program in construction trades to help victims of domestic violence gain self confidence and opportunities for employment in better paying, traditionally male dominated, occupations. She has worked in employment training in Albany, NY and Pittsfield, MA where she is currently the Program Manager in charge of vocational programs for people with disabilities.
Janice is the author of Making Ourselves At Home: Women Builders and Designers (published in 1995 by Papier-Mache Press and a co-author of The Boston Basin Bicycle Book (published in 1976 by David Godine, Publ.) Janice lives in upstate New York with her husband in the house they designed and built themselves.
